Senior MEP Estimator
About the role
The Senior MEP Estimator position is a hybrid role requiring 3 days of in-office work per week. Ideal candidates will handle a broad range of projects and sectors, particularly those involving Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) estimating.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes blueprints and documents to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Performs accurate quantity takeoffs from available design documents
- Led the development of conceptual and feasibility cost models using historic benchmarking and industry experience
- Obtains accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc.
- Reviews and finalizes estimate unit costs to reflect current market conditions and specific project logistics
- Reviews historic benchmark cost information and highlights variances
- Works with architects and engineers to understand project scope during estimate preparation
- Develops relationships with members of A/E firms and project teams
- Prepares cost reconciliations between estimates and explains variance cost drivers
- Performs other duties as the supervisor may assign
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related engineering field, with a minimum of 7 years’ MEP experience preferred. Must be able to provide high-level cost estimates for various cost studies and projects in Transportation, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Commercial sectors. Fluent in MS Excel, On-Screen takeoff, and SharePoint document control.
Qualifications
Must have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently. Experience with project management software and familiarity with industry standards and best practices are beneficial.

Pay
$120,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
