About the role
Cortrol Process Systems is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team. This role is crucial for supporting our sales team and ensuring accurate, timely project estimates.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and related documentation to develop accurate time, cost, material, and labor estimates
- Utilize ERP systems to create and maintain bills of materials, locate parts, and track quote activity
- Partner closely with sales and customers to clarify scope and gather missing project details
- Collaborate cross-functionally to obtain pricing, lead times, and component information
- Generate customer quotes using internal tools and calculators, with a target turnaround of 24 hours
- Leverage historical data and cost records to improve estimate accuracy
- Participate in design and pre-production reviews as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes, tools, and data accuracy
- Ensure quality and accuracy in all work while continuously looking for improvements
Qualifications
- Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in Construction Management, Estimating, or related field
- 3–5+ years of estimating or related experience (industrial, construction, or technical environment preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience reading blueprints and technical documentation (AutoCAD experience is a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (Prelude and ACT! a plus, not required)
- Comfort working with mathematical concepts such as ratios, percentages, and cost analysis
