Senior Mental Health Counselor Masters - Psych ED - Providence Anchorage
Join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK as a Senior Mental Health Counselor. This is a full-time position with a 0.9 FTE, variable shift, and 36 hours per week. A $5,000 hiring bonus is available for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.
About the role
The Clinical Assessment Specialist is a licensed professional with a master's degree in the social services fields. They serve as a member of the emergency/acute care clinical team to provide psychiatric risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, and crisis intervention to patients and families in both the Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments.

Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric risk assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Implement crisis intervention for patients and families in emergency departments.
- Serve as a member of the emergency/acute care clinical team.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work or other related field. Or, Ph.D in Psychology or other related field.
- One of the following Alaska state licenses upon hire:
- Masters Social Worker License
- Clinical Social Worker License
- Psychologist License
- Marriage and Family Therapist License
- Professional Counselor License
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification within 30 days of hire.
- 3 years of clinical experience in the mental health field.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $40.11 - $62.27 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
