Senior Mental Health Counselor Masters - Psych ED - Providence Anchorage
About the role
The Clinical Assessment Specialist is a licensed professional with a master's degree in the social services fields. They serve as a member of the emergency/acute care clinical team to provide psychiatric risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, and crisis intervention to patients and families in both the Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the emergency/acute care clinical team to provide psychiatric risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, and crisis intervention to patients and families in both the Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments.
- Provide psychiatric risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, and crisis intervention to patients and families in both the Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct initial and follow-up assessments to evaluate patient needs and progress towards treatment goals.
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain licensure and stay current with best practices in mental health care.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work or other related field.
- Or, Ph.D in Psychology or other related field.
- Upon hire: Alaska Masters Social Worker License.
- Or, Upon hire: Alaska Clinical Social Worker License.
- Or, Upon hire: Alaska Psychologist License.
- Or, Upon hire: Alaska Marriage and Family Therapist License.
- Or, Upon hire: Alaska Professional Counselor License.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
- 3 years Clinical experience in the mental health field.
Qualifications

Skills
Effective communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, proficiency in computer software, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Pay
$40.11 - $62.27 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Full time, 0.9 FTE, Variable shift, 36 hours per week.
