Senior Marketing Coordinator
About the role
Hensel Phelps is seeking a Senior Marketing Coordinator to join our team in Southern California. Reporting to the Project Development Manager, this position plays a lead role in the development of strategic proposals, qualifications, and marketing materials.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of RFQs, RFPs, and interview presentations, which includes writing, editing, formatting, and organizing content in alignment with pursuit themes and client requirements.
- Participate in pursuit strategy sessions to understand proposal goals, win themes, and client hot buttons.
- Collaborate with project teams, estimators, and subject matter experts to gather technical input and translate it into clear, persuasive proposal content.
- Facilitate proposal review processes and manage timelines to ensure timely delivery of high-quality submittals.
- Contribute to proposal innovation through new visual tools, creative content formats, or digital enhancements.
- Support the collection of jobsite data collections to maintain internal data system.
- Analyze data of relevant industries and competitors.
- Support content gathering by researching project details and coordinating with project teams.
- Draft content such as project descriptions, staff bios, social media posts, and internal news stories.
- Aid in preparing award entries and marketing collateral by formatting content, proofreading, and ensuring brand consistency.
- Utilize AI tools to assist in generating draft language for review.
- Research and stay informed on regional market trends, competitor activity, and client priorities to inform campaign development and pursuit strategy.
- Contribute ideas during marketing and pursuit planning sessions by bringing forward relevant insights, benchmarking examples, or early-stage campaign concepts to support team goals.
- Ensure consistent use of enterprise identity across materials and touchpoints.
- Support internal communications efforts that spotlight employee achievements and regional milestones.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on event coordination, helping develop materials and logistics for regional trade shows, recruiting events, and internal celebrations.
- Develop marketing materials including brochures, qualification packages, info sheets, and visual displays tailored to target audiences.
- Perform project and jobsite photography, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
- Manage multiple pursuits simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Works well with pursuit teams, technical staff, and marketing colleagues to gather input and align messaging.
- Clear and professional communicator capable of facilitating internal reviews, leading interviews prep, and translating technical input into compelling narratives.
- Proactively seeks ways to enhance proposals, presentations, and marketing materials with fresh visuals, storytelling techniques, or digital tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field of study.
- 2-4 years of architecture, engineering, and construction experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Highly organized and effective task management skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency and competency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) with graphic design and layout capabilities.
- Microsoft Office Suite Competency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated editing and proofreading skills, in addition to writing experience with technical narratives.
- Strong accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate with senior management, supervisors, peers, and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines and accommodate shifting priorities.
- Experience conducting research and applying analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- General understanding of construction industry terminology and procedures.

Pay
Total Compensation Range: $89,880.00 - $97,320.00 (Salary + COLA)
Schedule
Light Work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.
