Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, NPD Hardware

About the role

The Network Products Development team at Amazon Web Services is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to contribute to the development of our next-generation Ethernet switching platforms for world-class data centers. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in modular chassis-based enterprise and carrier products.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in delivering next-generation Ethernet switching platforms
• Experience in manufacturing and manufacturing engineering with a focus on terabit switch fabrics, 10/40/100 gigabit interfaces, embedded CPU subsystems, and network processors
• Experience working with overseas ODM/JDM partners
• Hands-on experience with SMT assembly processes, PCB fabrication, and assembly for HDI boards
• Familiarity with IPC standards and proficiency in statistical analysis tools and SPC methods
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, gerber files, and BOMs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any domain)
• 8+ years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience demonstrating problem-solving and root cause analysis
• Experienced interfacing with outside vendors and developers
• Working knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly for HDI boards
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, J-STD-001)
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP) and SPC methods
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, gerber files, and BOMs

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering (any domain) preferred
• Experience in SMT, PCB fabrication, sheetmetal fabrication (including die cast, injection molding, CNC, and SLA) preferred
• Experience in DFx preferred
• Direct experience with data center switch, router, or server product manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge of high-speed interconnect tech (400G/800G optics, PCIe, SerDes) preferred
• Experience with thermal process validation preferred
