About the Role
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at MKS, you will partner with the NPI Team and Engineering to develop and implement manufacturing processes for electromechanical parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies for new product development. You will report to the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Transition products from Design to LCC Manufacturing centers.
- Represent the Technical Operations team in product development projects, communicating requirements and proposing solutions.
- Partner with design engineering and facilitate supplier value engineering in product development with strong influence in DFX (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Service).
- Define and establish manufacturing methods, processes, and tools to streamline new and existing products.
- Review designs of PCBA’s, cables, metal, and magnetics for production manufacturability.
- Design and procure assembly tools and fixtures.
- Create, update, and maintain manufacturing process instructions.
- Structure product BOM’s and establish routings with associated labor standards.
- Coordinate product transfers to manufacturing.
- Support daily production demand.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or Industrial Engineering (IE) with 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electromechanical systems.
- Experience with PCBA, Quality, Reliability, Manufacturing, Cable/Harness, and Magnetics is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in problem-solving techniques relating to manufacturing processes.
- Experience introducing new products from a prototype to a production environment.
- Collaboration skills with a passion for manufacturing and operations.
- Ability to train and mentor production personnel.
Preferred Skills
- Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement (Kaizen methodologies, Value Stream Mapping, waste elimination, cost reduction, standard work development).
- Automation, digital transformation initiatives, robotics integration, PLC and controls understanding, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), data analytics, and manufacturing dashboards.
- Quality Systems (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Actions, Supplier quality management).
- New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), production readiness reviews, cross-functional product launches.
- Project Management (managing multiple manufacturing projects, scheduling and resource planning, budget management, risk assessment, stage-gate processes).
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Office and laboratory environment.
- Travel up to 20%.
Pay
Salary Pay Range: $88,425.00 - $147,375.00 USD per year.
