Senior Manufacturing Engineer
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a U.S. government-issued security clearance. An active and existing DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance is required from day one.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide Operations Engineering support to the Manufacturing Work Centers in Portsmouth, RI, focusing on fabrication and integration areas. This onsite position involves technical guidance to the Manufacturing team, ownership of manufacturing documentation, process improvement, cycle time reduction, defect prevention, and operator support.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and review Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
- Support a manufacturing area as part of a cross-functional team, guiding production through process troubleshooting and incorporating engineering changes into MDPs.
- Disposition non-conforming material and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Drive Continuous Improvement through process enhancements to reduce cycle time, ergonomic risk, and costs using CORE principles and data-driven decision-making.
- Engage in design development and transition to production, providing real-time technical support to manufacturers, fabricators, and the supply base.
- Use manufacturing systems and software (Microsoft, SAP) to maintain production-relevant information and perform data analysis to identify quality trends.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, establish baseline metrics, and conduct defect prevention and process data analysis.
- Infrequent travel may be required on an as-needed basis.
- Work 1st shift (typical start time by 7:00 am).
Qualifications
You Must Have
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
We Prefer
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DFMA principles, MRL/TRL assessments, and safety/ergonomic evaluations.
- Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), configuration management, and Military/Industry standards (e.g., J-STD-001).
- Experience with CAD solid modeling tools (preferably CREO/ProE) and simulation tools.
- Background in Transducer and Sensor assembly (mechanical assembly, bonding, potting, molding), cable/harness fabrication (including crimping), electromechanical integration, specialized tooling (jigs, fixtures), and refurbishment/repair of Government Furnished Material/Equipment (GFM/GFE).
- Experience programming, maintaining, and operating automated tooling/machinery (e.g., CMM, CNC, robotics).

Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, with consideration for role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
