Our Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a fully on-site role based in southern Minnesota and requires daily, in-person collaboration with production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote Senneca’s Mission and Values while ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Lead selected projects including research, justification, implementation, startup, training, and achieving target conditions
  • Support manufacturing operations in meeting customer demand and production goals
  • Oversee the creation, correction, and interpretation of drawings, BOMs, routings, and system transactions
  • Provide direct supervision to maintenance associates and mentorship to Manufacturing Engineers
  • Drive make-vs.-buy decisions to optimize cost and efficiency
  • Lead or support capital projects, product line transfers, lean initiatives, and robotic welding improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Sales teams
  • Promote a positive culture, safe work environment, and respectful workplace

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Production Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with 3D drawings, process improvement, and capital projects
  • Strong knowledge of automation and manufacturing systems
  • Proven problem-solving skills including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks for 2D and 3D design
  • Knowledge of ISO and AWS standards
  • Experience working with ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (5S, waste reduction, flow optimization)

Skills

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, CAD/SolidWorks, and maintenance software
  • Familiarity with manufacturing machinery, equipment, and measurement tools

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed on the production floor with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and mechanical equipment
  • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
