What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with process optimization, workflow analysis, and production efficiency improvements
- Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Why, Fishbone, or similar problem-solving methods
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and production processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering software
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in metal fabrication, sheet metal manufacturing, stamping, welding, or commercial building products
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience with CAD software and manufacturing process design
- Familiarity with capital equipment projects and facility improvements
What You'll Be Doing
- Improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects using tools such as Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities to reduce downtime, scrap, and manufacturing costs
- Design, improve, and document manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures
- Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing technologies
- Work closely with production supervisors, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to solve manufacturing issues
- Support new product launches by developing efficient production methods
- Lead process validation activities and ensure manufacturing processes are repeatable and reliable
- Drive workplace safety improvements and ensure engineering solutions support a safe work environment
- Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation while meeting budget and timeline goals
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when needed
