What You’ll Do
- Own end-to-end payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Lead year-end payroll activities including reconciliation, tax validation, and W-2 readiness
- Thoroughly validate vendor payroll outputs prior to payroll close and statutory filings
- Own day-to-day payroll vendor relationships, including service delivery, issue management, and ongoing performance oversight
- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll issues efficiently and proactively
- Establish and maintain strong payroll controls across employee lifecycle events, earnings and deductions, off cycle payrolls, and year-end statutory reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness
- Proactively identify payroll risks early and escalate appropriately
- Maintain documentation and processes to support audits and compliance reviews
- Partner with Finance, HR, and Legal on payroll-related inquiries
- Participate as a key contributor in payroll implementation and improvement projects
- Drive process improvements to reduce manual effort and operational risk
- Payroll tax compliance oversight and support
- Foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and proactive problem-solving
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business needs and growth
What You Bring
- 8+ years of payroll experience, including leadership responsibility
- Experience managing multi-state, multi-entity payroll
- Experience with payroll implementations, including Workday
- Hands-on experience with Workday and Ceridian Dayforce payroll systems
- Strong working knowledge of payroll compliance and regulatory requirements
- Solid judgment and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage complexity while maintaining accuracy and control
