This role is open to candidates based remotely in the USA, with preference given to those in the Southern California region.

About the role

As the Senior Transportation Manager, you will oversee a multi-location operation with up to 100 company drivers. Your focus will be on P&L, asset management, safety, customer service, driver onboarding, and operations staff development. Responsibilities

  • Maintain responsibility for overall P&L to meet established budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the operation’s communication, interaction, and relationship with company drivers
  • Oversee the management of tractor maintenance, compliance, and service delivery
  • Handle 1-2 on-site managers who supervise a total of 20-30 employees
  • Track operational performance including on-time pick-up and delivery, volume, equipment balance, and empty miles
  • Ensure driver recruiting and retention meets established fleet size goals

Requirements

  • 5 years of transportation management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Solid experience in the principles and practices of the transportation industry

Qualifications

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of experience in the transportation industry
  • Dedicated Fleet Management experience
  • Ability to find opportunities to increase accuracy, optimize resources, and implement solutions

Pay

The annual salary range for this role is $118,623 - $150,000 per year. This range is applicable for jobs to be performed in California and may be modified in the future.
