Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering - State, Local, Educational (SLED) Small Cities

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering - State, Local, Educational (SLED) Small Cities to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will lead a high-impact solutions engineering function supporting public sector customers in small city environments. The leader will build and develop a technical team that delivers strong customer experiences, scalable demos, and reliable deployment support. This position also partners closely with sales, product, and engineering to turn field feedback into improved solutions and stronger technical wins. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Pay

Compensation: $172,000 – $215,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, coach, and retain Solutions Engineering team members
• Set standards for technical quality in demos and customer documentation
• Manage engineering resources efficiently across the segment
• Drive technical wins in a two-to-one coverage model with reuse and scalability
• Serve as the escalation point for technical issues in critical deployments
• Lead site assessments and ensure high-quality installations
• Represent customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in customer-facing roles
• 1+ years of leading technical teams, including hiring and mentoring
• Strong understanding of drone technology and Public Safety sUAS operations
• Familiarity with Public Safety technologies such as CAD and VMS
• Demonstrated success in developing and retaining technical staff
• Experience operating within a Sales organization, managing resources and quotas
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
