Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the creation, management, and execution of organic social media content strategy for Share Our Strength's brands across various platforms.
- Adapt content strategy for organizational priority campaigns, social-first moments, rapid response, and platform-specific opportunities as algorithms and audience behaviors evolve.
- Direct, oversee, and maintain standards for brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all social channels.
- Develop and implement holistic social media content strategy balancing brand storytelling, measurable impact, and ROI-driven tactics that drive engagement and awareness.
- Leverage analytics to extract insights, identify trends, and continuously inform strategy.
- Manage a team of content creation supporters through a digital vendor to increase capacity and support for social content, managing project work including social media copywriters, app/platform representatives, and production partners.
- Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensure this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.
- Video Content & Live Production: Serve as lead rapid response content producer for social-first video content, including TikToks, Instagram Reels and live-stream coverage (as needed), bringing authentic, engaging energy that reflects the brand's voice.
- Produce and edit short-form social video content, including stitching together relevant news clips, trending audio, and organizational moments into timely, platform-native formats (comfort with in-app editing tools, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Express, Slate or similar is sufficient).
- Develop on-the-ground content plans for events, travel to organizational events, storytelling content collection opportunities, and campaign activations to capture live content and provide real-time social coverage across platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, or equivalent professional and work experience.
- 4-7 years of experience in social media content creation with demonstrated progression in scope and responsibility.
- Experience engaging audiences through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok (a plus) with an understanding of social media metrics.
- Hands-on experience with short-form video editing using mobile-first tools (CapCut, Adobe Express, in-app editors) and/or desktop tools; full video production experience is not required.
- Deep familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms, with strong understanding of platform algorithms and metrics.
- Experience managing influencer relationships and building long-term creator partnerships.
- Proficiency with Sprout Social, Asana, Keyhole, Facebook Business Suite, and/or Google Analytics strongly preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
- Familiarity with issue advocacy and political campaign experience is valued.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience presenting to high-level audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Experience covering live events for social media — planning, capturing, and posting in real time (nice to have).
- Genuine interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
