Who are we hiring?

The Senior Manager Security, Sphere - National Harbor will support the security planning, site development, infrastructure readiness, and pre-opening security posture for the Sphere - National Harbor project. This role will focus on construction-site security, physical security design coordination, contractor/vendor access controls, incident reporting, security technology planning, local law enforcement coordination, and transition-to-operations readiness as the site advances through development, construction, commissioning, and opening preparation.

What will you do?

  • Lead the development, review, and implementation of construction-site security plans, pre-opening security procedures, crisis response protocols, and security readiness documentation for Sphere - National Harbor.
  • Support the security posture of the active development site by coordinating site access controls, construction-phase credentialing, contractor/vendor movement, gate procedures, perimeter controls, delivery routes, laydown areas, and protection of critical assets.
  • Partner with construction, project delivery, infrastructure, facilities, technology, and design stakeholders to identify physical security requirements during site development, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarms, command center needs, emergency communication, lighting, fencing, barriers, loading/service areas, pedestrian routes, and secure back-of-house circulation.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local law enforcement, fire/life safety partners, emergency management agencies, and other public safety stakeholders to support construction-site security planning, incident response, traffic/access considerations, executive site visits, and future venue opening readiness.
  • Coordinate reporting and escalation processes for construction-site incidents, theft, trespass, unsafe conditions, access violations, security exceptions, damage to assets, and contractor/vendor compliance concerns.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability reviews across each phase of site development to identify exposure points and recommend practical mitigation strategies that are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with project timelines.
  • Support coordination with local law enforcement, fire/life safety partners, emergency management agencies, construction safety teams, vendors, contractors, and project leadership to promote a safe and secure development environment.
  • Track construction-phase security trends, gaps, and lessons learned to inform future operating procedures, capital planning, technology deployment, public safety coordination, and long-term security posture for Sphere - National Harbor.
  • Ensure site security planning remains aligned with MSG Threat Management & Security standards, enterprise risk objectives, construction milestones, commissioning activities, local public safety considerations, and opening-readiness requirements.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 7-10 plus years of direct experience in corporate security, construction-site security, infrastructure security, security operations, investigations, law enforcement, military, or large-scale venue/project security, preferably supporting complex development, entertainment, sports, public assembly, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting security planning for construction, renovation, capital projects, site development, or pre-opening environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of local law enforcement operations, public safety coordination, emergency response protocols, jurisdictional expectations, and local agency engagement as they relate to site security, construction activity, incident escalation, executive movements, and venue opening readiness.
  • Experience coordinating physical security measures, access control processes, CCTV/surveillance planning, incident response, investigations, contractor/vendor controls, and security reporting.
  • Must have experience recruiting, developing, and managing security leaders, supervisors, officers, contractors, or third-party security providers. Ideally, You’ll Also Have Knowledge of Software House CCure, Genetec, NEC EVA, SQL Server, Oracle applications, construction access control platforms, CCTV systems, visitor/vendor management tools, and security command or monitoring platforms preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret site plans, construction phasing, access routes, security drawings, physical security layouts, and operating requirements and translate them into practical security procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, summarize, and formulate reports, briefings, risk assessments, incident trends, and readiness updates for project and executive stakeholders.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure construction and development environment, solving critical issues with business, safety, schedule, budget, and operational impact; able to adjust priorities based on site conditions, project milestones, and direction from leadership.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as externally with contractors, suppliers, consultants, law enforcement, emergency responders, public safety agencies, and project partners.
  • Leadership skills to provide direction to construction-phase security personnel, contract security teams, vendors, and future Sphere - National Harbor venue security operations personnel.
  • Able to anticipate, influence, and assist Threat Management & Security and key company stakeholders to assess, address, and rapidly adjust to changing construction conditions, site risks, infrastructure needs, public safety considerations, and project delivery requirements.
  • Supervision Will oversee construction-phase security supervisors, officers, contract security resources, or third-party security support as assigned; role may be eligible for transition to oversight of Sphere - National Harbor security supervisors and security officers as the project moves from construction and commissioning into opening readiness and venue operations.

Special Requirements of the Job

  • Travel will be required up to 15% of the time in support of Sphere - National Harbor and other MSG business needs.
  • Role will require regular physical presence on or around an active construction/development site and may include movement through parking areas, service yards, access roads, temporary work zones, construction trailers, back-of-house areas, and partially completed infrastructure.
  • May be required to work evenings/weekends/holidays as appropriate based on project schedule, construction milestones, site activity, commissioning needs, public safety coordination, and operational readiness requirements.
