Senior Manager, Research And Development - Data Platform and Application Development
Primary Responsibilities
- Effectively design and implement high-quality solutions (applications, reports, etc.) using a chosen enterprise-level tooling.
- Delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions to internal customers.
- Create functional and technical requirements as an input to application design, business solution components, and prototypes.
- Develop business intelligence applications for data analysis optimized for the best performance and scalability requirements.
- Proactively communicate and effectively collaborate with all of our partners from RAD, IT, DSI, and stakeholders from other Departments.
- Act as the SME for solutions generated.
- Generate well-documented User Guide and provide training to end-users.
- Establish and maintain best practices.
- Participate in meetings to understand business strategy, requirements, and articulate problems that needed to be resolved.
- Work with IT and DSI teams to improve performance and fine-tune configurations.
- Effectively using monitoring tools to debug any performance issues.
- Help improve on codes and reports deployment procedure using CI/CD to add new features for applications and reports.
- Work with IT and DSI partners to debug any production issues to ensure the stability of our applications and reports.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- Hands-on experiences with FICO DMS®, Power BI, RStudio Team®, or SAS® are highly desired.
- Strong and hands-on experiences within Car Insurance Industry.
- Strong programming skills in at least one of the following: SAS, R, or Python.
- Able to learn new tools, such as Snowflake, Power BI and FICO DMS.
- A self-driven attitude to learn new technologies, such as Snowflakes and Cloud SaaS/PaaS.
- Knowledge of all GEICO data sources, such as relational databases (Netezza, SQL Server DB, EDWC), Big Data platform, and Claim Databases is a must.
- Able to work with other programmers and developers to optimize and debug codes.
- Proactively working with partner team members is a must and highly preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Capable of conveying information to colleagues from RAD, IT, DSI, and all other partner teams.
- Capable of collaborating with Technical and Non-Technical stakeholders.
- Can drive projects and implementing advanced technologies to add value for the team and the firm.
- Experience in architecting, designing, implementing, administrating, and troubleshooting an Advanced Analytical application, such as R, SAS, or Python.
- Basic understanding of IT fundamentals such as Active Directory and Cybersecurity.
- Basic knowledge of Linux Operating System.
- Experience with integration of BI tools with Hadoop and Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with RStudio Team, SAS Grid, Snowflake, Power BI is a plus.
- Experience with both Linux and Windows Server operating systems is a plus.
- Experience with Azure Products and Services, Snowflake, and NoSQL is a plus.
- Experiences of Administration, Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting at least one of the Advanced Analytical Platform is a plus.
Pay
Annual Salary $130,000.00 - $260,000.00. The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
