About the role
The Senior Manager, Data Platform is a senior technology leader responsible for the delivery, adoption, and evolution of mSupply’s enterprise data platform. This role serves as the Technical Product Owner during a critical implementation and maturation phase, partnering with a Business Product Owner who controls business prioritization and value definition.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the Technical Product Owner for the enterprise data platform, owning the technical backlog, platform health, and delivery execution.
- Partner with the Business Product Owner on prioritization, and translate business priorities into technically sound user stories, platform initiatives, and delivery plans.
- Lead and run Agile ceremonies for the Data Platform team, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Balance near-term delivery with long-term platform scalability, reliability, and architectural integrity.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with data architecture standards, integration patterns, and technology strategy.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security teams on platform reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, and security controls.
- Drive improvements in data quality, testing, observability, and operational maturity, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development for team members while fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and reinforce engineering standards for testing, documentation, and operational support.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI development, or data platform roles.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams in Agile delivery environments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and modern data transformation tools such as dbt.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ELT/ETL pipelines, and modern analytics architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to balance people leadership, technical execution, and stakeholder alignment.
Prioritized Qualifications
- Preferred:
- Experience with Azure-based data services and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for analytics and data workloads.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance practices.
- Experience in wholesale distribution, supply chain, or multi-location operational environments.
- Experience or demonstrated ability using AI-powered tools (e.g., code assistants, LLMs, AI-augmented workflows) to accelerate work and improve outcomes.
