Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of trade compliance professionals for the Industrial Segment, including trade professionals outside of the US, and foster a culture of integrity and continuous improvement to enable the business.
  • Operations Management: Manage day-to-day compliance operations for the Industrial Segment, such as export and import classification, export authorizations, import clearance support, technology control plans, sanctions/due diligence issues, training delivery, and reviews of import/export contract terms.
  • Regulatory Strategy Development: Collaborate with policy owners to develop, and execute and implement, trade regulatory strategies that ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Policy and Procedure Execution: Oversee the execution of trade compliance policy and support the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of trade compliance procedures to mitigate regulatory risks.
  • Compliance Monitoring and Auditing: Lead regular compliance monitoring and auditing activities of the business segment to identify and address potential regulatory issues to ensure alignment and consistency of enterprise trade policies and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Communicate regulatory requirements and compliance status to senior management and external stakeholders effectively.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; J.D., advanced degree, or relevant certification (e.g. Licensed Customs Broker, CCS, CES) strongly preferred

10+ years of global trade compliance experience in a global manufacturing environment

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex regulatory information clearly to stakeholders

Proficient in analyzing regulatory changes and assessing their impact on the organization’s operations

Experienced in planning, executing, and overseeing trade compliance projects to ensure timely and successful outcomes, with strong attention to detail

Adept at conducting internal audits and continuous monitoring to ensure adherence to compliance standards

Skilled in supporting the creation of and delivering compliance training to educate employees and foster a culture of compliance

Collaborate with central trade team and Aerospace Segment trade team, to support enterprise-wide initiatives and continuous improvement

Adaptability to evolving regulatory and geopolitical environments

Skills

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of relevant trade laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure organizational compliance
  • Risk Assessment: Identifying, evaluating, and mitigating trade compliance related risks within the organization and developing solutions to address and mitigate
  • Classification: Strong knowledge of determining export and import classifications (e.g., HTS, Export Control Classification Number, US Munitions List Categories)
  • Policy Execution: Implementing and maintaining effective compliance policies and procedures and collaborating to support the creation of procedures where needed
  • Leadership: Demonstrating strong leadership abilities to guide and manage trade compliance teams effectively
  • Analytical Thinking: Proficient in analyzing regulatory changes and assessing their impact on the organization’s operations
  • Project Management: Experienced in planning, executing, and overseeing trade compliance projects to ensure timely and successful outcomes, with strong attention to detail

Benefits

Estimated annual base pay: $134,000(minimum) - $168,000(midpoint) - $201,000(maximum)

All members included in annual cash bonus opportunity
