About the Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Platform Operations leads the team responsible for the ongoing health, security, and availability of the platform used by enterprise customers. This role oversees incident response, change management, release execution, and infrastructure operations to ensure seamless service delivery. The position is critical in maintaining operational excellence and driving automation efforts that enhance the platform’s reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage 24x7 incident response, SaaS customer operations, and change management to ensure platform reliability.
- Oversee deployment and fleet operations of thousands of virtual machines to maintain up-to-date, secure customer environments.
- Develop succession and growth plans for the team's technical domains.
- Implement AI-powered automation to reduce manual work and modernize operational processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, security, finance, and support teams to align priorities and maintain compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in leadership managing incident response, release, or deployment operations for SaaS environments.
- Experience managing 24x7 production operations, including on-call rotations and escalation.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP or similar regulatory compliance environments.
- Experience with enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, AWS GovCloud, and GCP; Azure is a plus.
- Proven experience managing distributed infrastructure fleets supporting production SaaS.
- Skilled in leveraging AI tools for business problem solving and workflow improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- US citizenship and residence on US soil, due to role support for the US government.
- Ability to balance technical leadership with people management.
- Capacity to operate effectively under production pressure with discipline and strategic thinking.
- Strong communication skills, including blameless operational health reporting.
- Proficiency with infrastructure automation and observability tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, Kubernetes, Datadog, or Prometheus/Grafana.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Base salary range: $168,000 to $210,000 per year.
Not eligible for commission-based compensation.
Salary offers based on experience, skills, and location.
Additional total rewards including bonus potential, equity for eligible roles, a monthly Flex Fund stipend, and pension/401k plans.
