About the role
The Senior Manager, Operations & Strategy, Global Communications at RTX plays a crucial role in strengthening the Communications function by driving operational excellence, improving information flow, and advancing enterprise alignment.
Responsibilities
- Support for Chief of Staff & Leadership Team
- Provide day-to-day strategic, organizational, and operational support to the Chief of Staff.
- Organize, document, and track the status of CCO directives to support alignment and accountability across the Communications function.
- Oversee collaboration tools, shared documents, best practices, and reference materials to ensure effective management.
- Manage sensitive information with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.
- Operational Efficiency, Standardization & Strategic Planning
- Strengthen the Communications Leadership Team’s operating rhythm to improve alignment, accountability, and decision-making.
- Contribute to the design and execution of a structured annual strategic planning cycle by integrating gated reviews, goal alignment, budgeting, and reporting.
- Recommend and implement new processes and best practices to address emerging challenges and enhance operational excellence.
- Communications Operations & Channel Optimization
- Lead strategy to streamline and modernize information flow across core channels—including the Communications Resource Center, Weekly Briefs, and All Hands—to ensure they function as accurate, reliable, and strategically aligned sources of truth.
- Lead governance, auditing, and continuous improvement of the Communications Resource Center to maintain accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with functional needs.
- CORE Leadership & Functional Maturity
- Serve as the Communications function’s CORE focal, advancing functional maturity and ensuring integration into enterprise planning mechanisms.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff to deliver Goal Alignment, the Control Tower, and other CORE-related engagements.
- Own processes that shape how the function manages IT-related initiatives—including Tiger Teams, CLT reviews, and reporting—establishing disciplined structures that support transparency, prioritization, and performance tracking.
- Strategic Projects
- Develop project plans and lead key initiatives assigned by the Chief of Staff, including Communications-specific AI best practices, dashboards, and enterprise impact efforts.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
- Proven program and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead process optimization and change management initiatives.
- Ability to exercise discretion and manage sensitive information appropriately.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders in a matrixed organization.
