Senior Manager of Accounting

About the Role

Lead a growing finance team in a fast-paced retail environment. Drive process improvements and technology adoption to increase efficiency. Collaborate cross-functionally on strategic finance initiatives. This role focuses on process optimization, technology integration, and maintaining compliance standards, all while fostering a positive work culture and supporting change initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop accounting staff, ensuring timely financial reporting
• Review financial statements, schedules, and reconciliations for monthly and annual closes
• Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls, including SOX compliance
• Manage external filings including SEC reports and tax returns
• Oversee equity award transactions, including issuance and reporting
• Partner with external tax firms to ensure accurate and timely filings for federal, state, and local taxes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, CPA required
• 6+ years in management roles within accounting or auditing
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and tax processes, including sales and property taxes
• Experience implementing new financial technologies and improving workflows
• Ability to lead, coach, and influence teams effectively
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferences

• Public accounting experience preferred
• Background in retail or consumer goods is a plus
