Senior Manager of Accounting
Position Summary
The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Accounting to lead critical accounting operations and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the month-end and year-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation.
Oversee accounting for sponsorships, media rights, partnership receivables, and other key revenue streams.
Lead recurring meetings with business partners to resolve outstanding balances and improve collections.
Oversee fixed asset accounting, capitalization, disposals, and depreciation.
Review payroll accounting, including player payroll, for accuracy and compliance.
Lead, coach, and develop the Accounts Payable team, Staff Accountant, and Accounting Manager.
Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and business processes while identifying automation opportunities.
Partner with Finance leadership, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders on audits, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement through standardization, documentation, and process optimization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification.
Demonstrated success leading complex accounting functions, financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvement within a complex organization.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals.
Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and modern accounting applications.
Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in professional sports, entertainment, hospitality, or another fast-paced organization.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Planful, Ramp, or Concur.
Knowledge of MLB financial reporting and league policies.
Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The anticipated salary for this role is $115,000-$130,000 annually depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity.
