Senior Manager, Global Medical Communications
About The Role
The Senior Manager, Global Medical Communications is responsible for the development of global medical communications resources for use both internally and externally across selected therapeutic areas. Leveraging a strong understanding of scientific data and the therapeutic use of products, this individual will contribute to the development and delivery of solutions that support patients and healthcare professionals through the creation of high-quality scientific content supporting Medical Affairs activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage a strong understanding of scientific data and the therapeutic use of products to develop and maintain the scientific lexicon for assigned mature products within therapeutic areas.
- Leverage a strong understanding of scientific data and the therapeutic use of products to develop and maintain scientific platforms for assigned products.
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and manage scientific content for global conference booth materials.
- Lead the development of core training and educational materials, including:
- Disease state training
- Product training
- Literature updates
- Competitive intelligence updates
- Medical Science Liaison (MSL) slide decks
- Ensure materials are available within Veeva for localization and global use.
- Document and track agreed-upon medical materials as part of annual planning to ensure timely delivery.
- Support the development of medical education materials that address identified educational gaps while maintaining compliance with all internal and external requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Medical Therapeutic Area teams and Medical Excellence to ensure materials align with established scientific lexicons and effectively meet the needs of intended audiences.
Qualifications
- Education: Preferred Degree in Nursing or Pharmacy. Advanced degree in Science or Medicine (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical, biotherapeutics, or related industry experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to thrive within a matrixed global organization.
- Strong medical communications expertise with demonstrated experience developing impactful scientific materials.
- Effective vendor management skills.
- Strong scientific acumen with the ability to independently assess content and tailor materials for appropriate audiences.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.
Travel Requirements
Domestic and international travel required.
