About the role

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications, serves as the primary IT business partner to senior functional leaders across various corporate domains, including Finance, Procurement, Marketing, Customer Service, Sales, Legal, HR, and others. This role bridges the gap between the company's senior business leadership and the technical resources responsible for implementing, supporting, and optimizing the company's enterprise application portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary IT business partner to senior functional leaders across Finance, Accounting, Commercial, and related business functions, translating complex business needs into clear technology requirements and actionable recommendations.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with direct reports and functional leaders across Finance, Accounting, Commercial, and related business functions, facilitating structured discovery sessions, solution presentations, and ongoing portfolio reviews to align technology solutions with business priorities.
  • Develop and communicate business cases for technology investments, articulating ROI, risk, alternatives, and strategic alignment in terms that resonate with executive audiences.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology, bringing relevant product intelligence and solution options to functional leaders before they ask.
  • Partner with business leaders and functional stakeholders to provide input into the technical strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle governance for a broad portfolio of corporate enterprise applications spanning Finance, Procurement, Marketing, Customer Service, Sales, Legal, HR, and other non-manufacturing functional domains.
  • Evaluate, select, and onboard new cloud-based, vendor-sponsored solutions in partnership with business stakeholders, IT architecture, and security teams, ensuring seamless integration with the broader application ecosystem.
  • Assess existing applications on an ongoing basis for relevant capabilities, vendor health, efficient processes, and cost-effectiveness; recommend consolidation, replacement, or retirement where appropriate.
  • Evaluate AI-native and AI-augmented solutions as legitimate alternatives to traditional SaaS applications when assessing new capabilities or replacements for current tools, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Maintain a current, prioritized application portfolio roadmap aligned with business strategic plans and budget cycles.
  • Manage relationships with SaaS vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers, including contract negotiations, performance accountability, and escalation management.
  • Oversee all aspects of application implementation programs (e.g., scope, timeline, budget, resource management, risk, and stakeholder communications) from selection through go-live and into steady-state support.
  • Ensure all applications meet Altium Packaging’s standards for security, compliance, data governance, and integration architecture in partnership with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity teams.
  • Cook up with the ERP program team and HRIS function on integration touchpoints, ensuring bolt-on solutions are aligned and compatible with core platforms.
  • Lead structured business requirements gathering and documentation efforts, working with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, and external implementation partners to define functional specifications for new capabilities and enhancements.
  • Evaluate and challenge vendor proposals, ensuring proposed solutions genuinely address business requirements rather than over-engineered or misfit alternatives.
  • Facilitate configuration, testing, and change management activities across application implementations, ensuring solutions deliver intended business value at go-live and beyond.
  • Lead and develop a team of Business Analysts, providing direction, coaching, and career development support. Define and continuously improve business analysis standards, requirement documentation practices, and portfolio governance frameworks for the team.
  • Model effective executive communication and stakeholder engagement practices, elevating the team’s visibility and credibility with business leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in enterprise applications, business systems, or IT business partner roles, with demonstrated ownership of broad application portfolios in a corporate environment.
  • Proven track record of building effective relationships with C-suite and senior functional executives, translating business challenges into technology solutions.
  • Hands-on experience managing SaaS application implementations and vendor relationships end-to-end, including scoping, contracting, configuration oversight, and go-live.
  • Experience supporting Finance, Procurement, Pricing, Data Management, and Customer Service teams.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion (Cloud Applications) or Oracle JD Edwards is helpful but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise SaaS application ecosystems across corporate functional domains (Finance, Procurement, Marketing, Legal, HR).
  • Working Knowledge with integration concepts and technologies (APIs, middleware, iPaaS platforms such as OIC, MuleSoft, or similar).
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and data/BI tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and SaaS architecture necessities.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data concepts sufficient to engage credibly with data teams and evaluate data-related requirements.
  • Demonstrated awareness of AI and machine learning tools and their application to enterprise business processes; ability to evaluate AI-native solutions objectively against traditional SaaS alternatives.

Skills

  • Strong project management skills, including experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and data privacy laws.
