Senior Manager, Content Marketing (B2C; myFICO.com)
About the Role
As a Content Marketing Manager on the myFICO team, you'll own the full content strategy and execution across multiple channels—developing editorial calendars, creating authoritative content, and measuring performance. This role balances SEO expertise with the ability to translate complex financial topics into accessible, compliant content that drives organic growth. It requires independent judgment, editorial instincts, and the drive to identify opportunities and execute without waiting for direction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a content strategy aligned to business goals and target audience needs across the customer journey.
- Write, edit, and publish long-form articles, blog posts, whitepapers, landing pages, email copy, and social content focused on financial services topics.
- Source, manage, and review/edit content from a network of contract writers.
- Apply SEO & AIO best practices across all content—keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, and structured data—to drive organic growth while maintaining editorial standards and brand voice guidelines.
- Own the editorial calendar and ensure consistent, on-brand publishing cadence.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, compliance, and design to produce accurate, polished content.
- Work with corporate PR and Comms teams to amplify content through earned media channels.
- Track and report on content performance (traffic, rankings, engagement, pipeline influence) and use data to inform future content decisions.
- Identify content gaps and proactively pitch new ideas that address audience needs and business priorities.
- Develop channel forecasts and identify trends, areas of improvement, and growth opportunities based on industry trends, technological advancements, attribution tracking, and regulatory changes.
- Foster an environment of constant innovation and experimentation by championing A/B testing, exploring new formats, and piloting conversion strategies.
Requirements
- Content experience in a consumer-facing (B2C) organization (e.g., NerdWallet, Credit Karma, BankRate), with a meaningful portion in consumer financial services (banking, lending, fintech, insurance, wealth management, or adjacent sectors).
- Editorial background—ability to write clearly and concisely, edit others' work without losing their voice, and understand what makes content engaging.
- Demonstrated SEO and AIO expertise: experience with keyword research, content optimization for search, and measurable results in rankings.
- Comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment—managing your own workload, hitting deadlines, and requiring minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console) and content management systems.
- Experience using analytics to measure content effectiveness and optimize programs over time.
- Familiarity with financial services compliance and regulatory considerations (e.g., required disclosures, fair lending language, FINRA/SEC communication standards).
- A portfolio of published financial services content demonstrating range and quality.
- Proven growth mindset, data-driven approach, and creativity with a track record of delivering strong business outcomes.
- Results-oriented, metrics-driven, and continuously seeking to improve marketing performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with internal teams, external partners, and executive stakeholders.
Benefits
- An inclusive culture reflecting core values: Act Like an Owner, Delight Our Customers, and Earn the Respect of Others.
- Opportunities to make an impact and develop professionally through valuable learning experiences.
- Highly competitive compensation, benefits, and rewards programs that encourage recognition for performance.
- An engaging, people-first work environment with work/life balance, employee resource groups, and social events to promote camaraderie.
Pay
The targeted base pay range for this role is $105,000 to $165,000, reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills, and experience.
