About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Commercial Training, to join the US Pharmaceuticals team. This role will support the Associate Director of Commercial Training & Development and be responsible for the development and execution of commercial training programs. You will deliver initial new hire training courses to ensure employees have the requisite level of disease and product knowledge, identify US commercial training needs, and translate these into comprehensive, adult-learning-driven training programs for all functions to drive business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify commercial training and development needs; support the US Commercial team (products/technical/skills) needs analysis.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs across field functions.
  • Lead the development of high-quality, effective sales training materials, including leaders’ guides and participant guides, ensuring a blended learning approach (virtual, regional, face-to-face, national meetings, pull-through training).
  • Provide input on behalf of the Commercial Training function to the development of new marketing materials and messages.
  • Deliver initial training, providing new employees with requisite disease and product knowledge and skills, including development, coordination, and certification.
  • Provide ongoing training, support, and coaching to customer-facing teams in line with brand strategy; design and deliver training solutions focused on developing competencies.
  • Ensure best practices in account management (Selling Skills model) and sales effectiveness are embedded in the sales process.
  • Record the status of completed training, proactively drive implementation of new training, track effectiveness using appropriate tools, and archive training materials to meet compliance and legal requirements.
  • Consult with Associate Director, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, and Compliance teams to develop training materials, resources, national meetings, regional (POA) plan of action meetings, and project plans.
  • Utilize and monitor project timelines, resources, and budget projections for short- and long-term high-impact training programs.
  • Collaborate with agency partners and vendors as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; on-the-job success is more important than postgraduate qualifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of overall pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience.
  • Prior pharmaceutical/biotechnology sales and sales training experience required; corporate/home office training experience highly preferred.
  • Launch experience a plus.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Morristown, NJ office on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week).
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (to National and/or POA meetings as required, as well as field rides with representatives), which may include overnight and/or weekend travel.
  • Knowledge of multiple physician types, including hepatologists and gastroenterologists (specific knowledge of liver or other metabolic diseases is highly preferred).

Skills

  • Proven track record for delivering strong, consistent results in a pharmaceutical sales organization and being an effective, results-oriented project leader.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects across functional areas and work independently when appropriate, in teams, and as a sub-team lead.
  • Instructional design principles to create training content.
  • Strong communication skills with an in-depth understanding of specialty product sales, account management, and sales processes.
  • Strong foundation in adult principles of learning; strong presentation and platform skills in various settings.
  • Strong interactive, digital platform skills on various platforms, such as Veeva, Teams, Zoom, and Podcasts.
  • Detail-oriented with impeccable organization skills.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative, energy, and enthusiasm; brings a positive, can-do approach to challenges; works with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Proven ability to adapt complex content into customized workshops for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment as well as independently.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Sense of ethics and responsibility.
  • Learning agility and ‘scalability’ to take on increasing responsibility as Alfasigma grows.
  • Consistent demonstration and embodiment of Alfasigma’s Corporate Mission: Passion for Innovation; Think Big, Act Small; Learn to Dare; and Teams Build the Future.
