Senior Manager, Analytics & Insights (US)- Finance-Decision Science

About the role
The Finance – Decision Science team delivers new account profitability analytics for several US Consumer products. These analytics evaluate marketing investments, business cases, and provide actionable insights that drive the business forward. The team leverages strong data and automation foundations to enable highly segmented frameworks supporting sophisticated analysis. The group collaborates closely with business and marketing teams to optimize campaigns and strategies for profitable growth.
The Senior Manager, Analytics & Insights manages a team of Business Insights & Analytics specialists and partners with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, identify data needs, and support data-driven decisions and strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provides people management leadership: hiring, goal-setting, staff development, performance management, compensation decisions, and teamwork facilitation.
- Oversees and leads a large, complex, and diverse reporting function for high-risk, high-complexity, or broad-scope areas.
- Serves as a strategic partner to leadership on portfolio and financial management, leveraging deep industry and enterprise knowledge to anticipate trends and identify operational efficiencies.
- Facilitates key strategic discussions and provides thought leadership to executive audiences, including developing strategic roadmaps, frameworks, and long-term goals.
- Sets operational team direction and collaborates across teams to execute common goals with a focus on long-range planning (12+ months).
- Manages a team of Business Insights & Analytics professionals, ensuring collaboration with partners to address business problems and provide analytical advice aligned with strategy.
- Manages escalated client issues, resolving or minimizing business disruptions through collaboration with internal partners.
- Applies judgment and discretion to navigate and resolve ambiguous issues.
- Reviews and contributes to executive presentations, driving strategic improvements and shaping team direction on emerging tools and visualization techniques.
- Collaborates with business partners to prioritize and shape ad-hoc analysis.
- Leverages data systems to equip the team with well-defined solutions for business problems.
- Ensures the team utilizes organizational data capabilities to deliver business analytics and insights.
- Oversees development and ongoing analysis for a business line or functional area using internal and external data sources.
- Supports key initiatives and programs with excellence in execution.
- Designs effective test-and-learn frameworks for programs or scenarios.
- Develops business-specific plans, aligning work and resources to support objectives.
- Identifies opportunities for business growth by pinpointing use cases and value drivers.
- Proactively identifies issues, trends, and opportunities, bringing forward recommendations based on judgment and facts.
- Leads the team in translating complex data into clear, concise recommendations.
- Ensures deep understanding and contribution to business strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Protects organizational interests by identifying and managing risks, escalating high-risk transactions as necessary.
- Manages oversight processes, risk-based identification, and monitoring of related risks and regulatory compliance.
- Oversees or leads the implementation of action/remediation plans for performance, risk, or governance issues.
- Stays abreast of emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements, assessing potential impacts.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science).
- Graduate degree preferred, with either progressive project work experience or 7+ years of relevant experience (higher education and research tenure may be counted).
Skills
- Strong expertise in profitability analysis for consumer banking products, including deposit and lending portfolios.
- Proven ability to communicate complex analytical findings through effective data visualization and business storytelling.
- People management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and model-building with strong technical skills (Excel, VB, Power BI, SAS, SQL, PySpark, Python).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot.
Pay
$123,050 - $184,570 USD per year. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business needs.
