About the role

This strategic role will serve as the enterprise-wide analytics lead for assigned partner areas within the Finance function, driving insights and optimization across capital allocation, business case development, M&A, and financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary analytics point of contact for designated business partners.
  • Partner with Capital Allocation and FP&A teams to support business case development and capital assessment.
  • Complete regular valuation analysis of Mosaic and its business units.
  • Lead analytics efforts for finance segments, business partner teams, and capital projects.
  • Support Strategy team and Strategic Initiatives and contribute to strategy development across the enterprise.
  • Complete complex financial analysis related to corporate finance, capital structure, and M&A activities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance and leadership.
  • Contribute to capital structure decisions.
  • In partnership with Corporate Finance, conduct peer group analyses and valuations and create peer comparison reports.
  • Partner with leadership to respond to inquiries or ad hoc requests requiring analytical support.
  • Lead and/or provide support for the development of complex one-time analytics and deep dives into issues affecting assigned partner teams.
  • Develop and coach employees to retain and expand organizational talent through focused attention and effort.
  • Provide work direction as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees understand their roles, business goals, and performance standards.
  • Manage performance issues when necessary.
  • Support employees in their career development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of financial analysis, modeling, and valuations, preferably in a business development or M&A context at a public company.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Broad knowledge of accounting and finance disciplines.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business optimization capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated acumen in decision-making under pressure, handling confidential information, and navigating complex organizational structures.
  • Willingness to collaboratively challenge the business.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Strong critical thinking and business curiosity.
  • Strong business acumen.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software tools.
