Senior Maintenance Technician
About the Role
The Senior Maintenance Technician is a hands-on position that provides technical expertise and oversees and participates in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of facility equipment in a validated cGMP environment. This includes machinery, buildings, computer systems, control systems, safety and security systems, and more. The role involves managing complex projects, maintaining shop tools and inventory, and updating the department’s CMMS (computerized maintenance management system). The position requires proficiency in the requirements of the Technician Maintenance and Project Technician roles and may include training other technicians. This role supports after-hours emergency response as needed and may involve physical demands such as strength and endurance.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-line maintenance and support, troubleshoot new or unknown issues, and diagnose root causes of recurring problems.
- Implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence of equipment failures.
- Complete and update preventative maintenance work orders for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual requirements, ensuring equipment is left in better-than-found condition.
- Participate in investigations of production-related problems and assist in introducing new or modified equipment.
- Learn new technologies to support new-to-company products and processes.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Assist with facilities maintenance, furniture moving, and meeting setups.
- Operate lifts, tow motors, jacks, hoists, and other equipment as needed.
- Assemble or modify fixtures, tooling, or equipment according to engineering sketches with close tolerances (±0.010”).
- Set up, operate, and adjust production equipment for material processing.
- Provide technical support for audits using advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., swaging, resistance and laser welding, light-cure gluing, Autobagger setup and repair).
- Train peers on new equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and lead problem-solving meetings.
- Utilize documentation to communicate common issues and provide guidance in the absence of production leadership.
- Maintain a positive work environment and professional rapport with internal customers (Engineering and Production staff).
Requirements
- Associate Degree (or a minimum of 9 years of maintenance experience in lieu of a degree).
- 5 years of maintenance experience.
- Ability to diagnose and repair machines.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and documenting work in electronic tracking systems.
- Support supervisors and engineering teams with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

Pay
Pay range for this position is $40.87 - $52.89 per hour, with eligibility for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates comply with county/city minimums if higher than the listed range. Pay is based on factors such as local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and other qualifications.
Schedule
Day shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
