Senior Maintenance Technician

About the role
As a Senior Maintenance Technician at Ourvita, you play a vital role in the company’s success by providing advanced technical support to the maintenance team. In this role, you’ll support the team throughout the day, assisting with line work, mentoring and coaching technicians, and escalating requests for assistance internally and externally as needed. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential, as well as expertise in diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues. A strong customer service mindset and a sense of urgency are also critical for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior-level technical resource to the facility by providing advanced troubleshooting and leadership resolving mechanical issues in the manufacturing process.
- Drive problem-solving using RCA tools, accurate data, and logical reasoning skills.
- Diagnose problems and identify long-term solutions to increase overall equipment effectiveness.
- Fabricate parts for all production equipment as needed.
- Perform IQ/OQ of new equipment purchases.
- Support Line Focus Teams, including improvement projects, advanced problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
- Comply with all aspects of the Maintenance Planning and Work Execution Processes.
- Use and help validate PM Job Plans.
- Use Asset Essentials to create a Work Order.
- Enter time allocations and parts usage against Work Orders.
- Follow storeroom and parts checkout processes.
- Support 5S and cleanliness standards in the shop.
- Compliance with all EHS and quality standards.
- Redzone downtime tracking, activities, logs, chats, etc.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and skill development for junior-level maintenance technicians.
- Perform all assigned PM’s and corrective Work Orders.
- Follow up on maintenance Redzone communication to ensure adjustments or failures are communicated properly and effectively to the proper stakeholders.
- Work directly with the Maintenance Manager to ensure effective cross-functional objectives are met.
- Demonstrate a strong customer service mindset and sense of urgency to resolve production issues.
- Inform leadership of unresolved issues. Ask for guidance or request additional resources in a timely manner.
- Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Safety Protocol: Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures. Correct or report any observed safety hazards. Support safety policies and programs.
Requirements
- Technical degree with 7+ years industrial maintenance experience in progressive leadership roles.
- 5+ years experience working in a Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment. Dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or food manufacturing experience is a plus.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Familiarity with installation and general repair and operation of production equipment and support systems (i.e., electrical, air, water, HVAC).
- Ability to weld, mill, and use the Lathe.
- Proficient at mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of PLC logic and ability to assist in troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop/design/update, read, and interpret drawings and equipment specifications, including electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and process.
- Display an advanced understanding and aptitude of electrical processes and design while troubleshooting equipment.
- Good understanding of production OEE and maintenance KPI’s.
- Effective time management skills. Prioritizing own work while accomplishing tasks on time.
- Ability to lead Root Cause Investigations and track and communicate Corrective Actions.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team with members across the organization.

Monday to Thursday, 2nd shift, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
