Responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibility for maintenance group of 15 employees including performance evaluation, talent acquisition, succession planning, training and talent development, and performance management.
- Ensures compliance with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures in your group.
- Maintains accurate CMMS files and necessary records to prepare and distribute control reports.
- Initiates or implements changes of both physical and written procedures including job plans.
- The principal liaison person between the maintenance group and departments served by maintenance.
- Safeguards the areas in which assigned to receive prompt, efficient, and quality service from the maintenance function.
- Communicates all events/issues with appropriate individuals.
- Meets deadlines established by the requesting department and maintains the preventative maintenance schedule is essential.
- Makes tactical decisions regarding response time based on priority of requested work.
- Makes decisions regarding priority levels, scheduling strategies, cost saving programs, and analyzes vendor performance (where applicable) with minimal supervision from management.
- If work cannot be scheduled within the prescribed time, prompt notification to customer is required.
- Delivers cost savings and supports the management of the site maintenance budget.
- Performance to meet site maintenance KPI's.
- Mets routinely with operations and other functional areas to monitor performance of the group.
- Interfaces with Engineering Services, Operations Manager and other Supervisors on evaluation, development, implementation and management aspects of the position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Science Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Technical degree with 5+ years of experience in Mechanical / electromechanical / Electrical and Instrumentation field /Maintenance Repair Operation (MRO)/ Reliability Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cGMP and Good Documentation required.
- Familiar with P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, one line schematics, etc.
- Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors.
- Demonstrates judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
- Listens to and understands others' points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
- Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences in a fast paced, goal driven environment.
- Has a technical background in health care, medical devices, pharmaceutical, biologics, or similar industries (preferred).
- Has demonstrated competency with financial systems and in fiscal control.
