Senior Loan Officer - Mortgage
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the sale of the Bank's loan products and the loan products of Bank-approved investors or lenders. They will also develop new business and business sources for the Bank through its Branch network and marketing efforts, and strengthen the Bank's awareness among customers and potential customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business and business sources for the Bank through its Branch network and marketing efforts.
- Develop new business and business sources for the Bank outside its Branch network.
- Register in NMLS and remain registered throughout the period he or she works for the Bank.
- Secure loans only through the Bank or Bank-approved investors or lenders.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Pricing loans in accordance with the Bank of Hope-provided price sheet in effect at the time the Mortgage Loan Officer locks the loan.
- Timely collection of all applicable fees as set forth in the Bank of Hope Corporate Fee Sheet then in effect.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Use only those data systems provided and used by the Bank for loan origination, automated underwriting systems, and payroll and accounting systems.
Requirements
- Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma
- Experience: 5 years of banking experience, preferably in mortgage
- Technical Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone
- Communication Skills: Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or customer complaints
- Public Speaking: Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, employees, regulators, or board members
- Writing Skills: Proficient in writing in the English language
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Math Skills: Good Analytical/Math skills
- Deadline Management: Effectively manage multiple deadlines and projects
- Lending Operations: Knowledge of lending operations, Note or International Dept. policies and procedures
- Bank Regulations: Knowledge of bank regulations affecting customer accounts

Benefits
Salary range for this full-time position is $16.50 - $17.00 hourly + bonus + benefits. Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location. Exact compensation may vary based on your skills and experience.
