Senior Living Memory Care Supervisor
About the role
Merrill Gardens at Campbell is a Montessori-Inspired Memory Care Community supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. We're seeking a compassionate Memory Care Supervisor to provide respectful, personalized care that promotes dignity and independence through meaningful, hands-on engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the highest standards for Garden House services provided to residents.
- Work directly with the residents to evaluate needs and services, participate in the assessment process, and identify personal history information and interests to be added to the care plan.
- Implement services during new resident move-in and help residents with orientation to the community and with their overall adjustment to the community.
- Conduct Family Orientation, engage families in the community, and provide support for them on an ongoing basis.
- Observe and report any significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, GM, and the family per state regulations.
- Work with the Executive Chef to coordinate resident meal service in Garden House that promotes resident choice, and nutrition as well as optimizes resident independence.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement daily activities including group programs, outings, and individual programs for Garden House residents.
- Provide leadership in creating and maintaining the standards as outlined in the Resident Care & Personal Pathways manuals.
- Incorporate programming needs into the care plans for all Garden House residents.
- Ensure that activity and functional needs are being met with attention to individuality and dignity while maintaining optimal levels.
- Conduct regular meetings with residents and their families to ensure that needs are being met.
- Manage team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities, challenge and inspire team members to achieve results, evaluate team members' skills and competencies, and ensure the completion of performance reviews.
- Oversee training and development of team members directly and indirectly managed; ensure training and certification of all GH staff are completed as required by Merrill Gardens and state regulations.
- Determine adequate staffing levels, identify, and recruit top talent, and prepare staffing schedules.
- Provide coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members to achieve employee engagement and customer "delight."
Requirements
- College degree in social work, occupational therapy, or recreational therapy or equivalent preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire) where required by state.
- Completion of dementia training as required by state regulations.
- A Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain a CDL within 1 month of hire.
Qualifications
- Must have 3-5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in assisted living, gerontology, and dementia care.
- Experience in hands-on personal care preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain department budget within guidelines.

Pay

Schedule
This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday.
