About the role

This is a senior, hands-on production role for someone with a substantial track record of independently leading corporate general sessions, leadership meetings, sales conferences, and multi-day events. You will serve as the lead producer and primary client contact on assigned projects, translating business objectives into an effective event experience. You’ll own the production plan, budget, team coordination, and on-site execution, making sound decisions and keeping clients and crews aligned throughout the process. You’ll also contribute your experience to the broader Plum team by mentoring colleagues, strengthening production practices, and helping grow lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Client relationships and event strategy – Guide clients through planning, clarify objectives, recommend approaches, and advise senior leaders and stakeholders with confidence.
  • Production from start to finish – Lead discovery, proposals, estimating, site visits, preproduction, rehearsals, live execution, and post-event reviews. Manage multiple projects while maintaining clear priorities and accountability.
  • Budgets and profitability – Build and manage detailed production budgets, negotiate vendor costs, track spending, and communicate scope changes. Deliver on client expectations while protecting project margins.
  • Production teams and partners – Assemble and direct internal staff, freelance crews, technical directors, venue teams, and outside vendors. Establish clear responsibilities, schedules, and standards.
  • Content and show development – Collaborate with Plum’s producers, editors, and graphic artists to integrate presentations, video, motion graphics, and screen content into a cohesive show.
  • Technical planning – Work with technical leads to develop practical solutions for staging, audio, lighting, video, LED displays, playback, and streaming. Understand how technical decisions affect the audience experience, budget, and schedule.
  • Rehearsals and live execution – Develop production schedules and run-of-show documents, prepare presenters, and lead on-site production. Resolve changes and challenges calmly while keeping the show and team moving.
  • Team development and account growth – Mentor developing producers, share lessons learned, and identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and support future projects.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional live event production experience, with substantial experience producing corporate general sessions and multi-day meetings or conferences.
  • At least five years serving as the lead producer on complex events, with direct responsibility for client communication, budgets, production teams, and on-site delivery.
  • A portfolio of completed productions that demonstrates your personal leadership role, the complexity of the work, and the results delivered.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage substantial production budgets, control costs, and address changes in scope.
  • Strong working knowledge of event staging, audio, lighting, video systems, presentation management, and digital or hybrid event production.
  • Experience working directly with executives, presenters, and other senior stakeholders, including guiding rehearsals and managing last-minute changes.
  • A record of leading multidisciplinary teams and maintaining productive relationships with crews, vendors, and venues.
  • Clear communication, strong judgment, and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work evenings or weekends as production schedules require.

Qualifications

  • Production company or agency experience managing several client accounts and concurrent events.
  • Show-calling experience.
  • Experience integrating custom video, motion graphics, and large-format screen content into live productions.
  • Success building repeat business and contributing to proposals and client presentations.

Benefits

You’ll join an established, collaborative production company where live events and video work together. With creative and production talent in-house, you’ll have colleagues who can help shape the story, build the content, and bring the event to life. This role offers meaningful ownership of projects and client relationships, along with the opportunity to help shape Plum’s growing live events business.
