The Opportunity
This is a hybrid opportunity focused on representing a large international logistics services provider and handling complex transportation and casualty litigation matters. The role offers significant client interaction, meaningful courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to work on emerging legal issues impacting the transportation and logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a transportation and casualty litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and analysis involving transportation laws, regulations, and related legal issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Attend depositions, mediations, court hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
- Negotiate settlements and resolutions on behalf of clients.
- Prepare case evaluations and strategic recommendations for client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups on litigation strategy.
- Develop proactive and cost-effective approaches to case resolution.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
- Minimum of 8 years of general casualty litigation experience.
- Trial experience required.
- First-chair or second-chair trial experience strongly preferred.
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience.
- Transportation, trucking, logistics, or related regulatory experience preferred.
- Experience handling complex liability matters and high-exposure claims.
- Excellent analytical, writing, advocacy, and communication skills.
- Strong ability to independently manage cases while working within a collaborative team environment.
