About the role
Hoplite Solutions is seeking a motivated and experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join a small, diverse team providing end-to-end software, systems, and network engineering services to support Integrated Discovery Operations (IDO).
Responsibilities
- Lead, evolve, and maintain a dynamic, modern DevOps architecture, often based on open-source technology and not relying on corporate baselines.
- Support software developers, phased system upgrades, compliance, and improvements aimed at ensuring continued execution of the IDO mission.
- Improve availability and reliability, reduce latency, and optimize performance, while maintaining the security posture.
- Design, maintain, and support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a large enclave comprised of various hardware, software, and network components, including server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Develop and carry out strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture and technology with minimal impact.
- Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions.
- Network administration including installing, configuring, and maintaining network devices; configuring various routing protocols, troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity, throughput, and latency; setting up firewalls.
- Maintain secure infrastructure and vulnerability corrections, data security, compliance, and backups and recovery.
- Maintain SSPs, STE/STN requirements via RMF, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM.
- Maintain user-level support, including interacting with system-savvy developers and analysts, resolving network, computer, and virtual system issues & anomalies.
- Maintain enclave documentation (network diagram, system names, IP addresses, barcodes, etc.); provide monthly activity report to include system outages.
- Deploy and maintain nginx; system monitoring platforms like OpenVAS, Prometheus and Grafana; SELinux and FIPS.
- Knowledge of LatteArt/Biscotti, Netseer, SEAR logging.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 11-years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
Qualifications
- Mission Focus: Design, maintain, and support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a large enclave comprised of various hardware, software, and network components to include server architecture, virtual machines, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Technical Proficiency: Network administration including installing, configuring, and maintaining net devices; configuring various routing protocols, troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity, throughput, and latency; setting up firewalls.
- Maintain SSPs, STE/STN requirements via RMF, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM.
- Maintain user-level support, including interacting with system-savvy developers and analysts, resolving network, computer, and virtual system issues & anomalies.

Desired Skills
- Familiarity with Docker, MongoDB, and Elastic Search.
- Working knowledge of software-defined networks.
