Senior Learning Manager
Overview
The Senior Learning Manager leads the design, development, and execution of strategic learning initiatives that build organizational capability and accelerate business performance. They partner directly with business leaders to assess learning needs and identify development solutions aligned to business objectives. This role manages key learning programs and workstreams, driving the creation of new skillsets, onboarding frameworks, and functional training. The individual will lead a team and influence stakeholders to deliver measurable learning outcomes.
General Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of learning solutions aligned to the business strategies, focusing on building specialized capabilities and accelerating associate development
- Proactively meet with internal business clients to fully understand their business strategies and learning needs
- Identify and design integrated learning solutions to fill performance and development gaps using adult learning methodologies and training techniques
- Provides strategic direction and coaching for the team
- Makes sure the work of other learning resources working on mutual projects is monitored and provides feedback, coaching, and guidance as needed
- Coaches and supports junior learning professionals to grow their consulting and learning design capabilities
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of experience working in the learning & development industry
- At least 3 years of experience in learning consultation
- At least 3 years of experience in learning curriculum design and development
- At least 3 years of experience managing the execution of training programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education or Human Resources
- 5 years of experience in training needs assessment and design
- 5 years of experience in client consulting / performance consulting
- 5 years of leading project teams
- 3 years of experience in Commercial Banking
Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $163,900 - $187,100 for Sr. Learning Manager
