What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour in-person life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students covering topics such as public speaking and focus, adhering to Alpha's established framework.
- Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students reach their weekly app-based learning targets using age-appropriate motivators including school currency and leaderboards.
- Developing Guides through direct observation, precise feedback, and practical training to ensure they execute sessions with equivalent energy and rigor.
- Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to determine which individuals require direct support, then providing that intervention yourself.
- Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from all Guides.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students advance through adaptive applications; your role is making the people supporting them exceptional.
- Delivering traditional classroom lectures. You're primarily an engager and motivator; if standing at a whiteboard appeals to you, this role isn't aligned.
- Compromising standards due to external pressure from families or school leadership. A 99% score means "not yet"—and you'll be supported in maintaining that threshold.
- Spending time at a desk managing administrative documents. The majority of your day involves direct engagement with students and Guides.
- Delaying performance conversations for scheduled reviews. Outcomes are visible in real time via Coachbot, and adjustments occur immediately.
