About the role

The role is responsible for offering personalized advice and wealth management related to Special Needs Trusts for High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) clientele. This role focuses on reviewing and implementing complex estate planning documents, identifying and mitigating risks, working with internal and external partners, and delivering outstanding client service.

Responsibilities

  • Review and implement complex estate planning documents
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure trust compliance
  • Work with beneficiaries and centers of influence (COIs)
  • Manage relationships with trust partners, attorneys, caseworkers, and other professionals
  • Offer knowledge of state and federal benefit programs
  • Review fiduciary tax returns
  • Deliver solutions requiring vision, creativity, and innovation
  • Contribute to the growth of the wealth management business
  • Onboard new Special Needs Trusts and secure future fee business
  • Manage client relationships according to sound fiduciary principles
  • Mentor and guide team members to maximize talent and potential
  • Resolve client complaints and approve discretionary distributions
  • Support the SAFE team in needs assessment and referral for dwelling secured products

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Fiduciary Advisory experience or equivalent
  • CTFA, JD, LLM, or CFP designation preferred
  • Extensive experience in administering complex special needs trust accounts
  • Expert knowledge of complex estate planning techniques and fiduciary laws
  • In-depth knowledge of fiduciary income tax
  • Demonstrated experience in growing fiduciary business

Qualifications

  • CTFA, JD, LLM, or CFP designation
  • Extensive experience in administering complex special needs trust accounts as an attorney or trust officer
  • Expert knowledge of complex estate planning techniques and fiduciary laws
  • In-depth knowledge of fiduciary income tax
  • Demonstrated experience in growing fiduciary business and supporting financial advisors and private bankers
