Senior Trust Officer – Special Needs Trusts (SNT)

The Role

We’re partnering with a boutique fiduciary firm that’s expanding its Special Needs Trust practice. They need a Senior Trust Officer who can own a book of SNT relationships end-to-end—clean administration, sharp judgment, and strong client guidance—while serving as a steady point person for families and caregivers.

This is for someone who’s not just “processing trusts,” but can lead conversations, protect public benefits, and keep everything compliant and organized.

What You’ll Own

• Lead the relationship for a portfolio of Special Needs Trusts and complex fiduciary accounts
• Run trust administration with accuracy across governing documents, fiduciary standards, and regulations
• Advise on distributions while safeguarding SSI/Medicaid and other benefits eligibility
• Coordinate with estate planning attorneys, advisors, caregivers, and beneficiaries to keep things moving smoothly
• Interpret trust language, spot issues early, and make sure decisions are documented and compliant
• Partner internally with investments/ops to deliver a high-touch client experience
• Identify risk, prevent problems, and handle sensitive situations with confidence and empathy
• Help build and strengthen a specialized SNT-focused practice

What They Want to See

• 8+ years trust administration experience with real Special Needs Trust exposure
• Strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities, trust operations, and compliance requirements
• Mature relationship skills—calm, clear communicator with families in complex circumstances
• Experience collaborating with attorneys and professional advisors
• CTFA preferred | JD or CFP is a plus
