Senior Laboratory Assistant, CF - Centinela State Prison (CEN)

The Senior Laboratory Assistant, Correctional Facility performs standardized non-technical laboratory procedures in collecting and processing laboratory specimens, materials, and supplies at Centinela State Prison in Imperial, Imperial County.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized non-technical laboratory procedures for specimen collection and processing.
• Assist in operating specialized laboratory equipment.
• Comply with all applicable State and federal laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the laboratory.
• May act in a lead capacity for laboratory assistants.
• Maintain order and supervise the conduct of the incarcerated population to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.

Requirements

• Under the supervision of the Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF).
• This is a limited-term position which may be extended or become permanent.
• Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces base salary by 3% and provides 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027 for full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 11 and related categories; part-time and intermittent employees are subject to prorated conditions.
