Senior Laboratory Assistant
About the role
This full-time position at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA involves 10-hour day shifts. The role focuses on the collection and processing of blood specimens for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric in-patients, emergency room patients, and other hospital services. Additional responsibilities include assisting with outpatient specimen collection, inoculating microbiology specimens onto primary media, and processing specimens for referral testing.
Responsibilities
- Collect and process blood specimens from in-patients, emergency room patients, and other hospital services.
- Provide assessment and care for patients across all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric).
- Assist with outpatient specimen collection and processing as needed.
- Inoculate microbiology specimens onto primary media.
- Process specimens for referral testing.
- Maintain proficiency in required competencies.
Requirements
- Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License, or
- Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License
Qualifications
- 1 year of laboratory phlebotomy experience (preferred).

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.98 per hour. The successful candidate’s placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts reflect base pay; additional compensation may be available.
