Senior Job Cost Accountant

About the Opportunity

The company is seeking a Senior Job Cost Accountant to join their team. This is a high-impact role with direct visibility to leadership and true ownership over the close and project accounting process.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and financial reporting

• Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure cash accuracy

• Prepare and analyze job cost reports, including WIP schedules and project performance

• Support project-related accounting such as billing, collections, and retainage tracking

• Lead regular accounting team meetings and help drive accountability across the function

• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities

• Manage tax filings and year-end reporting in coordination with external partners

• Identify and resolve discrepancies, improving processes and controls along the way

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

• 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to job cost or project accounting

• Experience with a project-based or cost accounting environment preferred

• ERP system experience (project-based systems a plus)

• Advanced Excel skills

• Strong understanding of GAAP

• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and communication skills
