Senior Job Cost Accountant
About the Opportunity
The company is seeking a Senior Job Cost Accountant to join their team. This is a high-impact role with direct visibility to leadership and true ownership over the close and project accounting process.
Key Responsibilities
Own the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and financial reporting
Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure cash accuracy
Prepare and analyze job cost reports, including WIP schedules and project performance
Support project-related accounting such as billing, collections, and retainage tracking
Lead regular accounting team meetings and help drive accountability across the function
Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities
Manage tax filings and year-end reporting in coordination with external partners
Identify and resolve discrepancies, improving processes and controls along the way
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5+ years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to job cost or project accounting
Experience with a project-based or cost accounting environment preferred
ERP system experience (project-based systems a plus)
Advanced Excel skills
Strong understanding of GAAP
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and communication skills
