Senior Java Spring Boot Developer
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Spring Boot Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native development, along with a mandatory AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend applications using Java J2EE and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Build, enhance, and support RESTful APIs and microservices architectures to enable seamless integration with internal and external systems.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, and development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure application stability and quality.
Requirements
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (Mandatory).
- Minimum 12+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development.
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, and related Spring ecosystem technologies.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design principles.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and working with JSON/XML payloads.
- Strong experience with Microservices Architecture and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM frameworks including Hibernate/JPA.

Benefits
- The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 to $ 163,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 to $ 163,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
This role is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client office in Plano, Tx. Based on the business requirements and project needs, the working arrangements may change.
