About the role
The ideal candidate will gain expertise in several components of this eTrading platform and take full ownership of their assignments from requirements gathering to rollout. The nature of the application development tasks could include adding business logic, new services, maintenance, bug fixes, QA automation, or framework development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based components of an eTrading platform
- Work with object-oriented programming and a mixture of new and legacy systems
- Apply Fixed Income domain knowledge, particularly with Rates (US Treasuries or Swaps)
- Communicate directly with clients, including Traders, Sales representatives, Operations, and other technology partners
- Solve problems with a result-focused, can-do attitude while maintaining business competitiveness
- Contribute individually within a collaborative team environment
- Utilize CLI AI tools such as Claude Code
- Be open to learning and working with other technologies (e.g., Python) as business objectives require
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong knowledge of core/server-side Java development
- Previous eTrading experience with B2C Exchanges (e.g., Tradeweb/Bloomberg) or B2B Venues (e.g., Brokertec/eSpeed/Fenics)
- Previous Algo development experience
- Previous low latency development experience
Pay
The base compensation range for this role in New York City, NY is $96,366 to $150,000. The actual compensation offered may fall outside of this range and will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, market considerations, and internal pay equity.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
