Senior Java Developer
About the role
This position is for the design, development, and support of high-performance, scalable microservices and event-driven applications. These applications support critical order management and trade processing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Develop and support asynchronous messaging and distributed systems.
- Utilize Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Perform debugging and provide production support for enterprise applications.
- Implement resiliency patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and failover mechanisms.
- Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery methodology.
- Support high-volume financial or trading applications.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security. Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, performance tuning, stored procedures, data modeling, and troubleshooting. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or CockroachDB. Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, partitioning, offset management, error handling, and performance tuning. Familiarity with event-driven architecture patterns. Knowledge of Enterprise Java with Spring and Hibernate, JavaScript, and REST API.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually.
Schedule
The role is based in Pennington, New Jersey and is currently an onsite position.
