The ideal candidate will gain expertise in several components of an eTrading platform and take full ownership of assignments from requirements gathering to rollout. Development tasks may include adding business logic, creating new services, maintenance, bug fixes, QA automation, or framework development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain core/server-side Java applications, working with a mixture of new and legacy systems.
  • Collaborate directly with clients such as traders, sales representatives, operations, and other technology partners.
  • Solve problems with a result-focused, can-do attitude while ensuring the business remains competitive.
  • Contribute as an individual in a team environment.
  • Leverage tools like Claude Code or similar CLI AI tools.
  • Learn and work with other technologies (e.g., Python) as business objectives require.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Java development.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and core/server-side Java.
  • Fixed Income domain knowledge, with experience in Rates (US Treasuries or Swaps).
  • Previous eTrading experience with B2C Exchanges (e.g., Tradeweb/Bloomberg) or B2B Venues (e.g., Brokertec/eSpeed/Fenics).
  • Previous algo development and low-latency development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in New York City, NY is $96,366 to $150,000. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors such as geographic location, education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, market considerations, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
