About the role
The Senior IT Specialist supports the USSOCOM SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract, providing IT services and support to over 70,000 users worldwide. The position involves various IT functions including network and systems administration, software development/maintenance, and end-user computing.
Responsibilities
- Supports the USSOCOM mission by providing IT services to SOF military and civilian members.
- Performs Tier one and two network, systems, and phone support.
- Administers network and communications systems, including routers, switches, VTCs, phones, laptops, and IT Specialist systems.
- Coordinates IT administration and performance requirements with other members of the networking and systems team.
- Identifies, analyzes, and documents long-range requirements and administers resources related to the enterprise network.
- Prepares technical implementation plans for integrated solutions, including actions, milestones, timelines, and critical paths.
- Provides full lifecycle support of LAN and WAN infrastructures.
- Follows designated network standards for the design, installation, and maintenance of IT infrastructures.
- Provides installation, tuning, testing, operating, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, defense, and management of WAN and LAN routing and switching infrastructure hardware and software.
- Configures, installs, operates, maintains, defends, troubleshoots, and repairs LAN/WAN capabilities, including point-to-point circuits, satellite connectivity, dedicated Internet connections, and broadband Internet connections.
- Configures, operates, maintains, defends, troubleshoots, and repairs VLAN architectures of USSOCOM, its Component Commands, TSOCs, and deployed forces.
- Configures, maintains, defends, troubleshoots, and repairs classified and unclassified wireless LANs, including wireless access points and their interconnection to the wired infrastructure.
- Provisions, operates, manages, and monitors LAN/WAN Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to securely connect remote elements and mission partners over the SIE and shared public IP networks.
- Troubleshoots LAN/WAN voice, data, and transmission networks and evaluates the effect of architectural changes on them.
- Implements network and security access.
- Configures, updates, monitors, manages, troubleshoots, and documents routers and switches in the USSOCOM LAN/WAN networks.
- Installs, configures, and maintains desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers.
- Installs and configures application and operating system software and upgrades.
- Removes old equipment and performs data migration to new machines.
- Maintains an inventory of installed software, manages software licensing, and creates policies and procedures for upgrades.
- Troubleshoots and proactively resolves technical issues.
- Provides mobile device support.
- Provides CSfC kit support.
Requirements
- Solid technical skills, with experience in a variety of network protocols, software, and hardware involved in IT Specialist operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Government hardware, software, and network components.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytic and diagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities.
- DOD 01-M IAT II AND CCNA.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance is required to be considered.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, 10 years experience with Associate's, 8 years experience with Bachelor's, OR 6 years of experience with Master’s.
- Years Of Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience.
- Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000.
