Senior IT Project Manager - Cybersecurity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of the cybersecurity managed services transition, from planning through operational stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and governance frameworks.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, transition readiness assessments, and operational handoff activities.
  • Establish governance structures, executive reporting, steering committee meetings, and stakeholder communication plans.
  • Manage knowledge transfer activities, including documentation, shadowing, reverse-shadowing, and operational runbook development.
  • Drive change management and workforce transition activities to support successful adoption of the new operating model.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation items.
  • Define and monitor transition success metrics, operational KPIs, service-level agreements (SLAs), and service readiness criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable security, regulatory, and organizational requirements throughout the transition.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex IT projects or programs.
  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale outsourcing, managed services, operational transformation, or workforce transition initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cybersecurity, infrastructure, or IT operations transitions.
  • Experience working with offshore delivery teams and third-party managed service providers.
  • Strong stakeholder management, vendor management, governance, and executive communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience working within HIPAA-regulated environments.
  • Experience with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and Zero Trust architectures.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • CISSP, CISM, Security+, ITIL, or related certifications desired.
