Senior IT Auditor (Auditor General)
About the role
The Florida Legislature is seeking a Senior IT Auditor (Auditor General) to join the Florida Auditor General's Office. This position is open in multiple locations including Tallahassee, Boynton Beach, DeLand, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Miami, Orlando, Port St. Lucie, Sarasota, and Tampa.
Responsibilities
- Conducts IT audits or other IT engagements at State agencies, educational entities, and local governmental units.
- Develops and coordinates audit plans and programs, supervises audit teams, and reviews their work.
- Monitors critical IT projects and determines compliance with legal requirements.
- Compiles and analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Communicates audit findings and recommendations to governmental officials.
- Assists in the training and supervision of subordinate auditors.
- Assigns work to and reviews the work of subordinate auditors.
- Prepares audit programs and develops audit procedures.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting and 30 semester or 45 quarter hours in excess of those required for a 4-year baccalaureate degree, meeting the educational requirements of the Florida State Board of Accountancy for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant.
- Two years of relevant professional experience (one year may be substituted for the hours in excess of those required for a 4-year baccalaureate degree if applied before August 2, 1983).
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in management information systems or information studies with an emphasis in information technology.
- Three years of relevant professional experience.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, management information systems, or information studies with an emphasis in information technology.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in another field of study and possession of a Certified Information Systems Auditor certificate.
- A master’s degree in business administration and three years of relevant professional experience.
- A CPA certificate accepted by the Florida State Board of Accountancy and two years of relevant professional experience.
